Regular monthly shipments of imported palm products and vegetable oils ensure continuity of supply and inventory holding for ex stock sales to Savannah’s customer base.

All imports are procured through Equatorial Group subsidiary – Wilmar Trading (Mauritius) Ltd. Vegetable oils are stored at Island View Storage, Durban where Savannah distributes a variety of products on an ex tank basis.

Palm oil products are sourced from Indonesia and Malaysia, where the Group has the unparalleled advantage of being able to source commodities by capitalising on the involvement of their partners in oil palm cultivation and milling – thus increasing their competitiveness and enjoying economies of scale.

Soft oil products such as sunflower, soya and canola oils are originated from various reputable suppliers in Argentina, Brazil and the EU.

Products imported from Malaysia and Indonesia include palm oil, laurics and related products.

These versatile products have a number of edible and industrial applications including food manufacturing, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries and biofuels.

Crude palm oil, palm kernel oil and coconut oil are refined and processed to produce a wide variety of bulk edible oil products, mainly refined, bleached and deodorized (RBD) palm oil, palm olein, palm stearin, palm kernel oil and coconut oil.

All products are shipped in bulk.

Crude or RBD Palm Oil >	Used in margarine, shortening and ice cream fats
Crude or RBD Palm Olein >	Used in cooking oil and for industrial frying
Crude or RBD Palm Stearin >	Used in margarine, shortening, soaps and detergents
Crude or RBD Palm Kernel Oil >	Used in specialty fats, oleo-chemical industries such as soaps and detergents, cosmetics, shampoos, plastics, lubricants and pharmaceutical products.
Palm Fatty Acid Distillate, palm fruit waste, various acid oils >	Used in soaps, oleo-chemical industries and animal feeds.

Soft vegetable oils are imported from Argentina, Brazil and Europe on monthly vessels.

Regular shipments from reliable suppliers on fully IMO compliant vessels ensure ongoing availability of stocks of imported oil in Durban.

Savannah is also actively involved in sourcing and trading vegetable oil through local tolling arrangements with domestic sunflowerseed crushers.
